Each half term every department in the school is given £30 to spend on a charity of their choice. How the charity is chosen is determined by the various departments. In most this is done via independent research projects and class-based voting systems.
This project gives our students space to consider the needs of others, and to hone their persuasive presentation skills, and for many it can be their first experience of engaging in democratic voting systems.
Charities that have been supported this academic year through the school’s departmental charity projects include:
- The Princess Trust
- The National Autistic Society
- World Wildlife Fund
- Waggy Tails Club
- BBC’s Children in Need
