Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People: A new home for our Maudsley education departments
Building is underway for the new Pears Centre for Children and Young People at our Maudsley site and we are very excited about what this means for the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School.
Due to be completed in 2023, the new centre will completely transform the experience of our pupils attending the Maudsley site. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the building and we have been lucky enough to be able to work closely with the architects right from the outset, to make the school accommodations something really special.
The school will be based on the 7th and 8th floors, with a range of bespoke learning areas, outside spaces including a roof terrace with commanding views of the London skyline and a full-size sports hall. Our pupils will benefit from the latest technology and design innovations to provide them with an exceptional school environment whilst they are in hospital or attending as community patients.
Take a look at the flythrough video for an experience of this cutting-edge facility and see if you can spot our school!
We are enjoying watching the progress of the build, from the very humble hole in the ground where it all started, to now the beginnings of outlines and foundations.
